After starting and running a company to design and produce cycling apparel for women, I decided to pursue a career in surface pattern design. The design aspect of the business was always my favorite. So after browsing surface patterns created by other artists for years, I decided that it was time to learn how to create my own repeat patterns.
Dixon Hill is the neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland, where I raised my kids and have lived for over 20 years. I’m an avid bicyclist and am frequently inspired by the flowers, trees, scenery, shapes, and architectural details I see all around me. It was only natural to name my surface pattern design business after a place that has provided so much natural beauty and the comfort of home for so many years.
